BIO

The Fumes arrive home to OZ and announce their very first headline tour of the year with special guest Elliot Brood from Canada.

Sure, they toured with Clutch, Calexico and the Hoodoo Gurus this year all before they shook down venues in the US again with their signature gritty performances, but true to form The Fumes are eager to be back in front of local fans this time with Elliot Brood who owns his own set of accolades and stays close to the road,  touring relentlessly. The Brood will be on tour to support their debut album release (out now thru ABC)

The Fumes went back to their ‘beginnings’ on the recent trip to the US and it bagged the blues rockers another  swag of great reviews and posts from  San Francisco,  LA,  New York back to Minnesota and more, including a feature on Yahoo’s home page for the newly released video ‘Automobile’.  The same track  showered  The Fumes with accolades here in Australia when it was released from their debut album ‘Guns of Gold’ mid 2006. With nostalgia in mind  The Fumes return tour will include songs rarely performed these days from their early catalogue and a selection of new works written on the road  delivered with the stripped back style the two piece have been enjoying in venues on their travels.  Let’s call it the ‘blues sessions’. The tour will also feature The Fumes as the headline act  for this year’s  Sydney Blues Festival

‘…the band was closely followed by awesomeness of The Fumes who delivered their standout set. The Fumes ( 2 piece) sounded  more intense and complex than any 13 piece band on the bill!’
